Yes, each currency pair has a minimum swap amount. This is displayed automatically when you select your currencies and enter an amount. If your amount is below the minimum, the interface will notify you before you proceed.

ShadowSwap charges a small service commission on each swap, displayed clearly before you confirm. Standard swaps carry a 0.5% commission. Max Privacy swaps carry a slightly higher commission of 1.5% due to the additional routing complexity. Network fees are included in the exchange rate estimate shown.

Standard swaps typically complete within 5–30 minutes, depending on the currencies involved and current network congestion. Max Privacy swaps take longer — estimated at 15–55 minutes — due to the multi-hop routing process and built-in privacy delays. You will receive status updates automatically as your swap progresses.

If you send less than the minimum required amount, the exchange may not process and a refund will be issued to the originating address (minus network fees). If you send more than requested, the swap will typically process at the rate applicable to the amount received. Always send the exact amount shown to avoid complications.

Always double-check the deposit address and network before sending. Sending to the wrong address or using the wrong network (e.g., sending ERC-20 tokens to a native address) can result in permanent loss of funds. ShadowSwap cannot recover funds sent to incorrect addresses. Triple-check before you send.

If a swap fails or is refunded, your funds are returned to the originating deposit address minus any applicable network fees. You can track the status of any transaction using the Tracker section with your transaction ID. If a refund is initiated, it may take several minutes to arrive depending on network conditions.

Max Privacy Routing is an optional enhanced privacy mode that routes your swap through a minimum of two separate exchanges before delivering your final payout in XMR (Monero). This makes it significantly harder to trace the origin of funds on the blockchain. It is fully non-custodial — your funds never pass through our wallets at any point.

Monero (XMR) is the gold standard for private cryptocurrency. It uses advanced cryptographic techniques — stealth addresses, ring signatures, and RingCT — that make transactions unlinkable and untraceable by design. Paying out in XMR ensures the final destination is cryptographically private, regardless of what coin you started with.

Max Privacy Routing involves multiple independent exchange steps that must each confirm on their respective blockchains. Additionally, intentional randomised delays are introduced between each step to prevent timing-based analysis that could otherwise correlate transactions. This is by design — the extra time directly contributes to your privacy.

A Shadow ID is a unique reference code generated for every Max Privacy swap (e.g., SHADOW-A1B2C3D4E5F6). It ties together all the hops in your privacy route under a single reference. Keep your Shadow ID safe — you'll need it if you ever need to contact support about a privacy swap. It does not reveal any information about your transaction to outside parties.

Yes. When you initiate a Max Privacy swap, you'll receive automatic status updates as each hop completes. You can also use the Tracker section with your Shadow ID to check progress at any time. Hop details are intentionally kept private — you'll only see the current stage (e.g., "Privacy hop 1/2 complete") rather than any intermediate routing information.

ShadowSwap is built with security in mind. All exchange logic runs server-side so nothing sensitive is ever exposed in your browser. No personal data is collected or stored. The service is non-custodial meaning we never hold your funds. As with any crypto service, always verify addresses carefully before sending and never share your transaction details publicly.

The tracker will show you the current status, the currency pair, and the amounts involved. Status updates automatically. You can also track via the ShadowSwap Telegram bot using the /status or /track commands.
